The website is very functional, but perhaps not as developed as it could be. There are excellent uses of colour and placement, and it would have been nice to see some pages differentiated from others - the layouts are all very much the same.

The preliminary site is not complete, and the Media page is perfunctory. This must be made good or it will be penalised.

There is a fair amount of level 3, a lot of level 2 and some level 1 (particularly the video). The overall mark for coursework may be in the region of 36 marks out of 60.

In your research and planning, the survey results are hard to read, because you need to write about what you found out - explain the statistics that you got, and then relate them to your site. The question about ‘how does your media product represent particular social groups’ has to have your survey as the evidence for what you have achieved, so you need to discuss the results of the survey against what your site does. This applies to ‘How did you attract/address your audience” as well.

Your research into similar products and a potential target audience is good, but must be improved by analysing your survey properly. The organisation of actors, locations, costumes or props seems to have gone well - although I think you should comment on how you photographed the babies. There isn’t much work on shotlists, layouts, drafting, scripting or storyboarding. Time management is good. There is proficient use of digital technology or ICT in the presentation.

In your evaluation, there is basic understanding of the forms and conventions used in the productions. Better use of evidence would get you a better mark - suggestion: write more about forms and conventions to show off your knowledge.

There is basic understanding of the role and use of new media - this seems clear. There are little flashes of development, with the colour and general layout making more of it. Rollovers and other interactivity work competently. The video is a bit of a disappointment. There is fair understanding of the combination of main product and ancillary texts.

The basic understanding of the significance of audience feedback has still to be reflected and posted.

Please would you put your blog in the logical order that the exam board needs - from first to last..

There is proficiency skill in choice of form in which to present the evaluation, ie your Blogspot. You are a fairly proficient communicator, but this needs more evidence.

6What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

The aim of the project is to design and make a working website about a charity of our choice which we had to create the idea of. The website will we be making, will be of a high quality and working standard. Me and Olivia have used a variety of different technologies to construct our website.These are:

Microsoft word and excel, a camera, adobe photoshop, and iweb.

Microsoft word and excel:
All my analysis and print screen work was done in microsoft word, and excel helped me to produce my survey results in a high quality.

Since starting the media course I have learnt about, and how to use adobe photoshop, this helped me to create the websites main features, such as the title and the please donate here button. This programme also helped me to enhance the quality of my pictures used in the website and gave us lots of options of how to make things look better for our website.

Iweb was the main programme we used to produce and develop our website in, before doing the course I wasn't familiar with this programme and found it hard to use and get used to, but I have now learnt how to use it properly and I don't find it too hard to use now. I Web makes your website look professional. I Web also allow you to create your website the way that you want it.

7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

The preliminary task for when we first got showed the programme I web was about a school that we had to create a website for, I found it hard to get used to how to work I web and found it quite hard, but as I have been working with it for a while since starting the website of our charity I am now confident with it. We produced 2 pages the home page and a media department page these included simple pictures and hyper links which were quite easy and simple to create.
Our main website 'babies in need' was a big upgrade from the level we were working in the preliminary website. Our main website let us use a wider range of tools making more pages and linking more pages together and using a variety of pictures, which made this website a lot more interesting than the preliminary one. We got our inspiration from other websites with the same target audience as us such as 'children in need' which helped us get ideas and make our website look better. We had a navigation bar at the left hand side of the page which included a variety of different hyperlinks which was different to what our preliminary website had. Also to add to the professionalism of our website we used pictures which were of high quality with the help of the programme photoshop.
I feel as I have got used to using all these programmes that the end finish of our website is at a high and professional standard. And that I have improved which is evident from what our preliminary website is like compared to our final and main website.

This was our donate button, we chose the cAdd Imageolour red as it stands out from all the other colours we've used in the website and it's very bold. We used big black capital letters for our 'please donate here' message as this will also stand out and hopefully catch the readers eye and persuade them to donate to the charity.

This was our main template for our website, we think this design relates to babies really well as it's simple but is very colourful and bright. We have 4 pictures of babies on the right hand side who we've helped thanks to our charity. The title is very bright and bold too. And the please donate button is very bold and bright to try to persuade people to donate. The pages on the left have all been colour coded to the colours in the title. We chose to have all different colours as this to us suggests babies and shows a happy atmosphere that we wanted to portray with the website. We chose to have all text in plain light grey boxes as its a simple and easy design.

This survey helped us to choose which charity to produce, the evidence from this survey shows that most people preferred to donate money to the charity "children in need" this gave us the idea that our charity should be "babies in need" and would hopefully become as successful as children in need. Also we regularly advertise fundraising events in the mirror, as that was the most read newspaper from the evidence from our survey. BBC and facebook were the most viewed and popular websites to visit so we are now looking to make the charity accesable through facebook and will be posting fundrasing events coming up on both sites.
